Spellcross: The Last Battle is a turn-based tactical strategy game developed by Slovak studio Cauldron HQ and released in 1997/1998. Set in a contemporary Earth overrun by an interdimensional invasion of orcs, undead, and other mythical creatures, the game blends military strategy with dark fantasy. Players command squads of human soldiers, managing action points for movement, attacks, and opportunity fire while navigating challenging, turn-based battles. A strategic layer ties missions together, featuring resource management, research, and territorial control as you unravel a story of demonic forces awakening an ancient titan.

Despite its innovative mix of modern warfare and fantasy, Spellcross struggled commercially due to limited marketing and the industry’s shift toward 3D graphics. The English version refined the original Czech release with improved visuals, mission tweaks, and a tutorial, but the game remains a cult classic. Notable for its deep tactical gameplay and unique premise, it’s often regarded as one of Slovakia’s most significant video game contributions.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
