Play Spider-Man on Snes Online

Swing through pixelated New York, yanking robots into kick combos and bouncing off walls in that janky-but-charming 90s Spidey brawler. The floaty jumps take getting used to, but there's something about webbing up Goblin's weird sci-fi traps that just clicks.

Game Overview

Spider-Man on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System came out in 1995, developed by Western Technologies Inc. It was one of several comic book games on the platform, a time when translating superhero action into 16-bit sprites was still a challenge. You don't get an open city; the levels are tight, side-scrolling stages that push you forward through factories and labs.

You control Spider-Man, moving through stages screen by screen, fighting various thugs and robots. The main goal is to stop Carnage and Venom, which involves a lot of straightforward brawling. Your signature moves are your web shooters, used to swing across gaps or temporarily trap enemies, and a wall-crawl that lets you navigate certain obstacles. The pacing is quick, but the difficulty can spike with some awkward platforming and enemy placements. It feels like a product of its time, a little stiff in places but with a clear love for the character.
