Game Overview

This Sega Genesis Spider-Man game is a weird little time capsule. Yeah, it's got the same basic story as the SNES version—you're still swinging around as Spidey, punching thugs and dodging traps—but the levels are totally different. Like, completely rebuilt from the ground up. The first stage throws you right into a construction site with these awkward jumps between girders, and the controls take some getting used to (why does wall-climbing feel so stiff?).

It's got that classic 16-bit charm though—bright colors, chunky sprites, and that unmistakable Genesis sound chip blasting superhero tunes. Some of the boss fights are surprisingly creative, like the one where you have to web-sling around Doc Ock's arms. Just don't expect it to play as smoothly as the SNES version. The physics are... unique.

If you grew up with a Genesis, this was probably your Spider-Man fix back in the day. It's rough around the edges, but there's something oddly satisfying about mastering its quirks.
