Game Overview

Sumo Wrestling on the NES is one of those weird little games that somehow ends up being way more fun than it has any right to be. You pick a wrestler—some are fast but weak, others are slow tanks—and then it's just you, your opponent, and a tiny ring. No fancy combos, just shoving, slapping, and desperately trying not to get yeeted off the screen.

The physics are ridiculous in the best way. One well-timed shove can send your guy sliding halfway across the ring, and if you're not careful, you'll go flying off the edge like a cartoon character. The sprites are hilariously exaggerated, all bulging bellies and flailing limbs. It's not deep, but that's the point—matches are over in seconds, and you'll immediately want a rematch.

Playing against a friend turns into pure chaos, with both of you laughing at the absurd knockouts. It's not polished, but that janky 8-bit charm is exactly why it sticks with you. If you find a copy, give it a shot—just don't blame me when you're still playing at 2 AM.
