Game Overview

Super Fighter (or Fatal Encounter if you got the rare English version) is one of those weird, rough-around-the-edges MS-DOS fighting games that somehow sticks with you. You pick from eight fighters—each with their own martial arts style—and brawl through 11 stages of drug lord henchmen. The story’s hilariously over-the-top: some crime syndicate starts assassinating world leaders, and your character’s job is to punch them into submission.

The moves feel stiff by today’s standards, but back then, landing a special attack (like a flurry of punches or a fireball) felt like a victory. My go-to was the guy with the spinning kick—clunky but satisfying when it connected. The roster’s unbalanced in that charming 90s way where half the cast feels useless until you figure out their one broken move.

It’s janky, the AI cheats, and the pixel art looks like it was drawn during a caffeine binge, but there’s something weirdly addictive about it. Maybe it’s the sheer audacity of a Taiwanese studio cloning Street Fighter for DOS. Either way, it’s a time capsule of early PC fighting games at their most ambitious and flawed.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
