Game Overview

Super Star Wars (Argus Hack) is a side-scrolling action game for the NES that throws you right into the original Star Wars movie. You start as Luke, blasting stormtroopers in the desert, and it feels clunky at first—the controls take some getting used to, but there's a weird charm to the janky movement.

The levels are surprisingly varied—one minute you're in Tatooine's canyons, the next you're sneaking through the Death Star. The Argus Hack tweaks some things, like enemy patterns, making certain sections less brutal than the original. Still, some jumps feel unfair, and the hit detection can be frustrating when blaster fire clips you from off-screen.

It's not perfect, but if you grew up with the NES or just love Star Wars, there's something oddly satisfying about powering through its rough edges. Super Star Wars (Argus Hack) captures the movie's spirit, even if the execution is a little rough.
