1995 Amiga fighting game. 1v1 battles with iconic fighters, special moves, and combos. Features fan-made roster and responsive controls.
Game Overview
Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers Disk2 came out for the Amiga in 1995, a conversion handled by Creative Materials and published by Capcom. It arrived late in the Amiga's life, a time when many players were already looking toward newer systems, but it offered a solid, if not perfect, way to experience the arcade fighter at home. The game expanded the roster from earlier Street Fighter II iterations, adding four new combatants to the familiar lineup.
You pick one of the fighters and face opponents in one-on-one battles across various global stages. The main goal is to defeat every challenger in the tournament, leading up to the final boss. Signature mechanics include executing special moves, like fireballs and dragon punches, by inputting specific joystick and button combinations; landing combos by chaining normal attacks into specials; and managing a super meter that builds as you deal or receive damage. The pacing is brisk, matches are short, and the difficulty can feel steep, especially against later CPU opponents. It feels responsive and immediate when your inputs connect just right.
