Game Overview

Technos Ice Hockey is that weird, rough-around-the-edges NES hockey game you probably missed back in the day—and honestly, that’s a shame. It plays less like a proper hockey sim and more like someone took a bunch of tiny pixelated men, gave them sticks, and let them loose on an ice rink with zero rules. The body checks are absolutely vicious—players go flying across the screen like they got hit by a truck—and the puck bounces around like it has a mind of its own.

Teams actually feel different here, too. Some are fast but weak, others hit like tanks but move like they’re stuck in molasses. The AI plays dirty, your goalie might randomly decide to take a nap, and slap shots send the puck screaming toward the net at ridiculous speeds. It’s janky, chaotic, and somehow way more fun than it has any right to be. If you’ve got a buddy to play with, it turns into a hilarious mess of shoving matches and last-second goals. Definitely not for purists, but perfect if you want hockey with the brakes off.
