Game Overview

Remember that old-school TMNT arcade beat 'em up from Konami? This is the one where April gets snatched by Shredder (classic move), and you pick your favorite turtle to bash through waves of Foot Soldiers. I always went with Donatello—his bo staff has crazy reach, though you might prefer Michelangelo's nunchucks if you like getting up close.

It plays like a simpler Double Dragon, but with way more personality. Most enemies go down easy, but watch out for the knife-wielding ones—they'll mess you up if you're not careful. Each level ends with a boss fight, like taking on Bebop and Rocksteady at the same time (good luck with that).

The NES version adds some cool extras, like a snow level where you fight through Central Park and a dojo stage with new bosses. There's even a messed-up fly version of Baxter Stockman that still gives me nightmares. Cowabunga never felt so satisfying.
