Play The Games - Winter Edition Online
Compete in winter sports like skiing, bobsled, and ski jumping, aiming for the best time or score while mastering tricky courses and tight turns in The Games - Winter Edition.
I first played The Games: Winter Edition on MS-DOS back in 1988, a collection of winter sports simulations published by Epyx. It came out during a time when sports games were just starting to find their footing on home computers, offering a mix of events that felt ambitious for the hardware. The graphics were simple, but the challenge was real, and it captured the competitive spirit of the season in a way few other titles did.
You control an athlete across several events, including skiing, bobsled, and ski jumping, with the main goal being to post the best time or score in each discipline. Signature mechanics include timing your jumps with precision, navigating treacherous downhill courses while avoiding obstacles like trees, and maintaining speed through tight turns. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, especially when a small mistake costs you the entire run. It feels tense and rewarding when everything clicks together.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
