Top Gun on the DS is basically you cramming an arcade flight sim into your pocket—and somehow it works. The controls take a second to get used to (you’ll be tilting and tapping the stylus like crazy at first), but once it clicks, pulling off barrel rolls between missiles feels weirdly satisfying. Missions are short bursts of dogfighting or bombing runs, which is perfect for handheld play.

Don’t expect full realism—it’s more about quick reflexes than flight physics—but the little details like radio chatter and the way your plane shudders when you take hits make it feel intense. The Japanese version throws in some extra planes too, if you’re into that. Just watch out for the landing sequences; they’re way harder than they should be.
