Game Overview

Track & Field II on NES is basically the Olympics in 8-bit form, but with way more events than the first game. You pick a country to represent (I always went with Japan for no real reason) and then mash buttons like crazy in events like hurdles, archery, and even taekwondo—which feels random until you realize it’s a nod to the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

The best part? Between Olympic mode rounds, you get these weird bonus stages like breaking plates or jumping over hurdles on a pogo stick. It’s chaotic, your thumbs will hurt, and somehow that’s exactly why it’s still fun decades later.
