Transformers: Decepticons for the Nintendo DS came out in 2007, published by Activision. It was part of that wave of movie tie-in games on the handheld, a time when you expected a certain kind of portable action experience. You play entirely from the Decepticon side, which was a nice change of pace from the usual hero stories.

You control a customizable Decepticon recruit, switching between robot and vehicle forms to complete missions across various urban environments. The main goal is to carry out Megatron's orders, which involve destroying Autobots, gathering energy, and causing general chaos. Key mechanics include real-time transformation during combat, using both melee attacks and ranged weapons, and navigating semi-open areas to locate objectives. The pacing is mission-based with some exploration, and the difficulty can be uneven, especially during certain enemy encounters. It feels satisfying to finally master the flow of transforming and attacking in a single motion.
