Game Overview

Ultima VI was a big deal back in the day—it ditched the weird scaling from earlier games where towns were just tiny blips on the map that suddenly exploded into full-sized areas when you walked in. Now everything’s seamless, from wandering the overworld to creeping through dungeons (no more jarring switches to first-person either).

The graphics got a major glow-up too, with bright VGA colors and this pseudo-3D isometric look that felt downright luxurious compared to the blocky Apple II days. And finally, NPCs had actual faces—little portrait boxes popped up when you talked to them, which made conversations way more engaging. It’s funny how something so small made the world feel so much more alive.

If you’ve only played the older Ultimas, this one’s gonna feel like stepping into sunlight after years of dungeons.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
