Game Overview

Violence Fight came out in the arcades in 1989 from Taito Corporation. It was part of that wave of early belt-scrolling brawlers, a time when developers were still figuring out the rules for the genre. The game had a raw, unpolished feel that set it apart from the more refined titles that would follow.

You control one of two street fighters, Bull or Eddie, and your goal is to clear each screen of all enemies before moving to the next. The combat is built on simple punches and kicks, but it includes a few unique mechanics; you can pick up knives or pipes to use as weapons, and defeated enemies sometimes drop health-restoring food. The pacing is deliberate, almost sluggish, with a difficulty that spikes sharply. Playing it feels like a rough, chaotic scrap where every victory is a messy struggle.
