Play Whale’s Voyage Online

You build a ragtag space crew from scratch—mess up their backstories and you’re stuck as a broke bureaucrat instead of a bounty hunter. Then it’s just you, a busted ship, and sketchy trade runs through janky 3D spaceports where your crew whines about oxygen leaks.

Game Overview

Whale's Voyage came out in 1993 for MS-DOS, published by Pro One Software. It was one of those space trading and strategy games that felt right at home in the era, blending resource management with a bit of adventure. You didn't just fly a ship; you pieced together a life on the fringe, scraping by in a universe that didn't care if you made it or not.

You start by assembling a crew, choosing their backgrounds carefully because a bad pick can leave you stranded as a penniless administrator instead of a capable trader. With your ship—often barely spaceworthy—you take on cargo runs, negotiate prices at wobbly 16-bit space stations, and manage your crew's needs, like fixing oxygen leaks before they complain too much. The goal is to earn enough to upgrade your ship, take on bigger missions, and maybe uncover something bigger out there in the void. It moves at a deliberate pace, and mistakes early on can haunt you for hours. Playing it feels like balancing on a knife's edge between profit and disaster.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
