Whales Voyage came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Neo Software and published by reLINE Software. It was one of those mid-90s space adventures that blended genres in a way that felt both ambitious and a little strange, typical for its time.

You command a ship and its crew, trading goods between star systems to earn credits while managing your crew's morale and supplies. The main goal is to build your reputation and wealth, but you frequently engage in tactical, turn-based ship combat when encountering pirates or hostile factions. Between trades and battles, you sometimes land on planets to take on odd jobs from locals, like finding lost items or solving minor disputes. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
