Game Overview

Wizardry II: Legacy of Llylgamyn was released for the Game Boy Color, bringing the classic dungeon crawler to a handheld format. It was developed by Sir-Tech, the same team behind the original Wizardry games, and it arrived during a time when deep, complex RPGs were still a rarity on portable consoles. This version offered a condensed but faithful adaptation of the computer original, letting players carry their party from the first game directly into this sequel.

You control a custom party of adventurers, delving into a multi-level dungeon filled with monsters, traps, and treasure. Your main goal is to recover the stolen Orb of Llylgamyn, navigating maze-like corridors one screen at a time. Combat is turn-based, requiring careful selection of attacks and spells, while mapping the dungeon on graph paper (or in your head) is practically essential. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty is steep; every step risks an ambush or a dead end. It feels tense and absorbing, like slowly uncovering a dangerous, handwritten map.
