Wolf Pack was one of those MS-DOS games from 1990, published by Brøderbund Software, that really captured the feel of submarine warfare on a home computer. It came out during a time when simulators were gaining complexity, and it asked players to manage more than just firing torpedoes; you had to think like a captain, not just a gunner.

You control a World War II submarine, hunting enemy ships while avoiding depth charges and managing limited resources like torpedoes and battery power. The main objective is to complete patrol missions, sinking targets and surviving encounters with destroyers. Key mechanics include using the periscope for surface attacks, navigating by sonar when submerged, and carefully monitoring your oxygen and damage levels. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes tense, with long stretches of silent waiting broken by sudden, frantic action. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
