Play X-Men (Europe) Online
Pick Wolverine or Cyclops, slash through waves of Magneto’s goons, and try not to lose it when the game tells you to reset your Genesis mid-level. That pixelated chaos is pure 90s nostalgia.

X-Men for the Sega Genesis, released in 1993 by Sega and developed by Western Technologies, was one of the many licensed games of its era that tried to capture the energy of the comics. It arrived during a time when side-scrolling action games were common, and it stood out mostly for its source material rather than any particular innovation.
You control either Wolverine or Cyclops, moving through levels filled with enemies like Sentinels and Brotherhood members. The main goal is to stop Magneto, which involves navigating screen by screen, using each character's unique attacks; Wolverine slashes at close range while Cyclops fires optic blasts. The game is known for its infamous "reset the computer" puzzle, which required physically pressing the console's reset button. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving due to limited continues and aggressive enemy patterns. Playing it feels like a rough but earnest translation of comic book action into 16-bit form.
