Game Overview

X-Men: Madness in Murderworld came out in 1989 for MS-DOS, developed by Paragon Software. It was one of those early comic book adaptations that tried to capture the feel of the team in a straightforward action-adventure format, typical for the era when licensed games were often simple but challenging side-scrollers or exploration titles.

You control one of several X-Men, like Wolverine or Cyclops, navigating screen by screen through Arcade's lethal amusement park. The main goal is to survive traps, defeat enemies, and find your way out. Key mechanics include avoiding environmental hazards, using each character's unique mutant power in combat or puzzle situations, and managing limited health. The pacing is tense, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with instant death traps and limited continues. It feels like a race against both the clock and the designer's cruel imagination.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
