Play X-Men - The Official Game (EU) Online

Switch between Wolverine’s claw slashes, Nightcrawler’s teleporting takedowns, and Iceman’s icy shots—simple brawling with just enough mutant flair to keep it interesting. The Nightcrawler bits are the best, sneaking through vents before dropping on unsuspecting goons.

Game Overview

I picked up X-Men: The Official Game for the Nintendo DS back in 2006, a time when licensed movie tie-ins were everywhere. Developed by Beenox and published by Activision, it was one of those portable titles that tried to capture the feel of the console versions, built around the events of X-Men: The Last Stand. The DS hardware wasn't exactly a powerhouse, but it got the job done for a side-scrolling beat 'em up with some light platforming.

You control three mutants: Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Iceman, each with their own set of missions. The main goal is to fight through waves of enemies, like the Brotherhood or military soldiers, to stop various threats. Wolverine relies on close-range claw combos, Nightcrawler uses his teleportation to navigate stages and perform stealth takedowns, and Iceman shoots projectiles while hovering on his ice slide. The pacing is fairly straightforward, though some sections, especially with Nightcrawler's precision teleports, can be tricky to nail. It feels like a solid, no-frills action game that makes decent use of each character's abilities.
