You control a team of two mutants from a roster including Wolverine, Cyclops, Gambit, and Nightcrawler, fighting through screen after screen of Magneto's reprogrammed Danger Room. The main goal is to stop his global threat, which involves navigating maze-like levels, hitting switches, and defeating bosses like Sabretooth and Juggernaut. Key mechanics include switching between your two selected characters on the fly to use their unique powers and solving simple environmental puzzles that require specific mutant abilities. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is notoriously unforgiving, especially in later stages where enemies swarm from all directions. It feels chaotic and demanding, but pulling off a perfect team combo to clear a room is deeply satisfying.
