Game Overview

Yogi Bear: Great Balloon Blast is one of those weirdly addictive Game Boy Color puzzle games where you’re technically the villain—Yogi’s scamming campers by posing as a balloon salesman while dodging Ranger Smith. The setup alone makes it more interesting than your average match-three.

Here’s how it works: A floating cloud drifts side to side, loaded with colored balloons. You’ve got a picnic basket with two balloons dangling from it, and you can flip them around or swap colors before launching them upward. The goal? Match three of the same color to pop them before the whole stack crushes you. Sounds simple, but the cloud keeps shifting, so timing your throws gets tense fast.

Every few levels, Ranger Smith shows up to ruin your day by stomping the cloud lower and dropping rocks. If one hits your basket, you’ll panic-launch your balloons at the worst possible moment. There’s something oddly satisfying about clearing a screen just as the balloons are about to touch the bottom.

It’s got that classic early 2000s handheld charm—bright colors, silly cutscenes, and just enough challenge to make you mutter “one more try” at 2 AM. If you dig quirky puzzle games with personality, this one’s a hidden gem.
