Yoshi Mario (SMB1 Hack) is exactly what it sounds like—a simple but fun romhack that swaps Mario for Yoshi in the original Super Mario Bros. levels. The controls feel a little off at first since Yoshi’s movement is slightly heavier, but you get used to it after a few jumps.

It’s weird seeing Yoshi in the 8-bit world, stomping goombas instead of eating them. The sprite looks decent, though the colors clash a bit with the original backgrounds. Some jumps are trickier than they should be because Yoshi’s hitbox isn’t perfectly adjusted.

Not much else changes—same levels, same music, just with a green dinosaur instead of a plumber. If you’ve played SMB1 to death, this might give it a tiny bit of fresh life. Otherwise, it’s just a neat little curiosity.
