Play Zoop on Msdos Online
You're a cursor zipping around the screen's edge, slamming matching tiles together before the neon avalanche buries you—simple controls, instant panic. That pulsing synth track still haunts me.

Zoop came out in 1995 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Viacom New Media. It was a straightforward puzzle game from an era when many titles focused on quick, accessible mechanics rather than complex stories or graphics. You would often find it bundled with other simple games, a common practice for getting a variety of experiences onto home computers without needing a powerful machine.
You control a small cursor that moves along the outer border of the screen, shooting at colored tiles that approach from the center. The main goal is to clear these tiles by matching your cursor's color to the incoming pieces before they reach the edge and end the game. Key mechanics include chaining combos by quickly eliminating several tiles in a row and managing the increasing speed of the tiles as you progress. The pacing is relentless; the game starts calmly but quickly demands fast reflexes and sharp focus. It feels like a constant race against a collapsing playfield, where every second counts and a single mistake can undo a long run.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
