Game Overview

3D Construction Kit: EGYPT was released in 1991 by Incentive Software as part of their MS-DOS Classic Games line. It was a level editor and game creation tool that let players build their own 3D adventures set in ancient Egypt, using the same engine as games like Driller and Dark Side. At the time, it was one of the few accessible ways for home users to design and share first-person exploration games without needing to code from scratch.

You control a character from a first-person perspective, navigating through blocky, textured environments you designed yourself. The main objective is to build and test your own puzzles, traps, and exploration sequences. Signature mechanics include placing and aligning room geometry, setting up triggers for doors and traps, and scripting simple events like enemy spawns or item collection. The pacing is entirely up to the creator; some levels are methodical and atmospheric, while others are chaotic mazes full of instant-death pitfalls. It feels like being both an architect and a playtester, constantly tweaking your own inventions until they work (or spectacularly fail).

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
