Game Overview

I picked up A.R.S.E.N.A.L Taste the Power back in the day, a 1997 MS-DOS release from TACTICAL Soft Inc. It was one of those turn-based strategy games that felt right at home on the platform, demanding a bit more patience and planning than the flashier arcade titles of the era. You don't see many games like it anymore, where the interface is all menus and grids, but it had its own quiet appeal for those willing to dig in.

You command a squad of tanks and support vehicles, moving them across grid-based maps to complete objectives like capturing bases or destroying enemy units. The signature mechanics involve careful resource management; you have to keep fuel trucks close to your tanks or they'll stall out mid-battle. Combat is resolved through dice-roll calculations based on positioning and unit stats, and every engagement carries weight because your crews gain experience over time. The pacing is deliberate, almost tense, as you try to outmaneuver opponents without overextending your limited supplies. It feels like solving a dangerous puzzle where every move could leave you vulnerable.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
