Game Overview

Aladdin (EU) on NES is a side-scroller that nails the feel of the movie—bright colors, familiar tunes, and that sense of scrambling through Agrabah’s rooftops. You start with just a sword, jumping over gaps and dodging guards, but it gets trickier fast. The platforming is tight, though some jumps feel just a pixel too far.

What stands out is how much they packed into an 8-bit cart. The bazaar level has merchants shouting (in text boxes), and the Cave of Wonders actually glows. But the hit detection’s rough—you’ll swear you dodged that snake, but nope. And Jafar’s final fight? Frustrating in that old-school way where you memorize patterns or die.

It’s not the deepest game, but for a licensed NES title, Aladdin (EU) holds up better than most. Just expect to retry a few sections more than you’d like.
