Play Argos no Senshi (Japan) Online

You play as a mullet-sporting action hero punching through swamps, blasting enemies in clunky shooting sections, and wrestling with hilariously bad driving mechanics—it's a mess, but the kind you can't look away from.

Game Overview

Argos no Senshi (or Bayou Billy if you grew up outside Japan) is one of those NES games that feels like it threw every idea at the wall—some stuck, some didn’t, but man, is it a ride. You play as Billy, a guy who looks like he walked straight out of a VHS action flick, and your mission is simple: punch, shoot, and drive your way through swamps and back alleys to save your girlfriend. Classic.

The first level drops you into a jungle where enemies pop out of nowhere, and by the time you hit the swamp (oh god, the swamp), you’ll either rage-quit or develop a weird respect for its janky charm. The driving sections handle like a shopping cart on ice, and the shooting bits are pure NES Zapper chaos—just don’t expect any mercy.

It’s rough around the edges, but there’s something endearing about how unapologetically ’80s it is. If you’ve got patience for old-school difficulty and a soft spot for games that try way too many things at once, this one’s worth a laugh—or a controller throw.
