Game Overview

Art of Fighting on SNES was SNK flexing their fighting game muscles right after Fatal Fury, and man, those sprites were huge for the time. Like, your fighter takes up half the screen when they reel back for a punch. The super gauge was cool—land enough hits, and you could pull off these flashy desperation moves that felt way more satisfying than your basic specials. Not gonna lie, the controls were a little stiff compared to Street Fighter, but there was something weirdly charming about how over-the-top the characters were. That one guy just straight-up throws his jacket at you as an attack.

It’s definitely a product of its era, but if you’re into retro fighters, this one’s got personality to spare.
