Play Assault City (Europe) (Light Phaser) Online

Grab the Light Phaser and blast through waves of tanks and choppers—it’s pure chaotic '80s arcade action where missing a shot means getting swarmed fast. That factory level still haunts me.

Game Overview

Assault City is one of those classic light gun games for the Sega Master System where you’re basically holding down the trigger the whole time, blasting everything that moves. It’s got that late '80s/early '90s arcade vibe—fast-paced, a little chaotic, and way more fun with the Light Phaser than trying to aim with a controller.

The levels throw waves of enemies at you—helicopters, tanks, soldiers popping out of nowhere—and the hit detection is surprisingly decent for the time. Some of the later stages get brutal, though. I remember getting stuck on this one factory level where enemies just keep spawning from both sides until you figure out the pattern.

If you’ve got the Light Phaser, it’s a solid pick for a quick, noisy shootout. Just don’t expect deep storytelling—it’s pure arcade action all the way.
