Avoid the Awful Thing that Vaguely Resembles a Banana!! is the kind of MS-DOS game that makes you squint at the screen and go, "Wait, what am I even looking at?" And then you keep playing anyway because it's strangely compelling.

You control... something (a cursor? A tiny spaceship?) while this lumpy, yellow nightmare slithers toward you. The controls are dead simple—arrow keys or bust—but the chaos ramps up fast. By level three, you're dodging not just the "banana" but also random debris, flickering obstacles, and what might be a sentient pretzel. The pixel art is just vague enough that your brain fills in the horror.

It’s got that old-school "laugh until you throw your keyboard" energy. Perfect for when you want something quick, stupid, and weirdly competitive—like if someone took Snake and fed it through a fax machine twice. I still don’t know what the awful thing is, and at this point, I’m afraid to ask.
