The Thing came out in 2002 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Computer Artworks. It was a time when PC games were pushing into more complex, atmospheric territory, and this one fit right in, building on the paranoia of John Carpenter's film.

You control a rescue team leader sent to investigate the aftermath of the Antarctic outbreak. Your main goal is to survive, find out what happened, and destroy the creature, but your biggest challenge is managing your squad. You assign weapons, medical supplies, and flamethrowers to your team members, but any one of them could be an alien impostor. The game plays out through base exploration, combat with mutated forms, and using a trust meter and blood test kits to uncover infections. It moves deliberately, forcing careful decisions under pressure. Playing it feels like being stuck in a room where you can't trust the walls, let alone the people.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
