Balloon Challenge was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it didn't come from a major developer or publisher. It was one of those straightforward, unassuming titles that filled out shareware catalogs and budget game packs in the early 90s. You controlled a small balloon, navigating it through a series of side-scrolling screens filled with environmental hazards. The goal was simply to reach the exit on each level without popping.

You guided the balloon using the arrow keys, fighting against a persistent wind that pushed you toward spiky cacti, swooping eagles, and other obstacles. The challenge came from managing your ascent and descent carefully; going too high could send you into storm clouds, while dropping too low meant certain doom on the desert floor. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
