Game Overview

Battle Bugs is this weirdly charming MS-DOS game where you command an army of bugs fighting other bugs in places like your kitchen counter or bathtub. At first it seems silly—ants versus beetles in a cereal box warzone—but then you realize there’s actual strategy here. Your fireflies can stun enemies from a distance, while beetles tank damage but move slow. Mess up your unit matchups, and that cockroach swarm will overrun your aphids real quick.

The missions start simple, but later levels force you to think ahead—like sending fast units to flank while your heavy hitters distract. I remember getting stuck on this one bathroom level where the enemy had way more spiders, until I figured out their pathing was terrible around soap puddles. It’s janky in that old-school way, but there’s something satisfying about outsmarting the AI with bug tactics.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
