Battletank came out for the NES in 1990, developed by Imagineering Inc. Signature mechanics include navigating screen by screen through varied terrain, engaging enemy tanks and helicopters in direct combat, and carefully budgeting your resources since running out of fuel means an instant mission failure. The pacing is deliberate and tense; you move slowly, and every encounter risks critical damage. It feels like a careful, methodical grind where a single mistake can undo all your progress.
