Battletoads and Double Dragon on SNES is this weirdly awesome crossover where you get to pick between the Double Dragon brothers (Billy and Jimmy) or one of the three Battletoads—Zitz, Pimple, or Rash. I always went with Rash because, well, he looks ridiculous and punches like a truck.
It’s your classic side-scrolling beat ‘em up—walk right, punch things, repeat—but with that signature Battletoads chaos. Enemies come at you from all sides, and the bosses are no joke. The first time I fought the final stage boss, I swear I lost like five continues before figuring out the pattern.
What makes it fun is how over-the-top the animations are. The toads do these absurd wrestling moves, and even the regular kicks feel weighty. Just don’t expect it to go easy on you—it’s got that old-school difficulty where you’ll get wrecked if you button-mash. Still, smashing through waves of enemies with a friend is a blast.
