Play Bill & Ted's Excellent Video Game Adventure Online

Play as Bill or Ted fixing time (again) by luring historical figures with weird bait, avoiding jail, and budgeting payphone quarters. Surprisingly strategic for an NES movie game.

Game Overview

Okay, so remember Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure? This NES game picks up right after the movie, where our favorite airheaded time-traveling slackers are supposed to be forming their world-saving band. But nope—Rufus shows up again because someone's messing with history (ironic, right?). Now Bill and Ted have to fix time again, but this time through some surprisingly clever gameplay.

You pick either Bill or Ted, and the cool part is they leave items for each other as you switch between them. The time travel works like this: you flip through this phone book of historical figures until you spot a blinking red number (took me a minute to figure that out), then guide a payphone booth through these circuit-like time paths. It's weirdly satisfying to plot the cheapest route while avoiding obstacles—every turn costs a quarter, so you gotta budget.

When you land in a time period, it's this isometric view where you wander around trying not to fall off paths or bump into angry locals (some help, others demand coins or straight-up toss you in jail). You'll scramble for keys, coins, and random stuff like pudding cups to distract people chasing you. The best part? Finding the right historical "bait"—like, good luck guessing what'll tempt Napoleon before you check the manual. Once you lure them in, switch to the other dude and do it all over again until time's fixed. Totally bogus... but in a fun way.
