Game Overview

Blood & Magic came out in 1996 for MS-DOS, published by Interplay. It was part of that wave of mid-90s PC games that tried to blend real-time strategy with role-playing elements, a time when developers were experimenting with how to make fantasy worlds feel more interactive and less predictable.

You control a wizard leading a small band of summoned creatures, mostly golems, through a series of linked battle screens. Your main goal is to defeat enemy wizards by destroying their towers while protecting your own. Key mechanics include managing a shared mana pool to summon units or convert them into defensive structures, and exploring each screen to find resources and enemies. The pace is deliberate, with a steady difficulty that requires careful planning rather than quick reflexes. It feels like conducting a messy, unpredictable orchestra where every spell cast matters.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
