Game Overview
Brigade Commander is one of those old-school Amiga gems where you're thrown straight into the chaos of tank warfare. You get a mix of real-life vehicles—tanks, APCs, the works—each with their own quirks, like how some lumber around while others pack a serious punch. The hex-based maps give it that classic tactical feel, and you'll spend a lot of time pausing to rethink your moves when the enemy flanks you.
What I love is how the scenarios actually feel like little war stories instead of just random battles. One minute you're holding a defensive line, the next you're scrambling to regroup after an ambush. And if you ever run out of missions, the editor lets you cook up your own disasters—I may or may not have created a few unwinnable ones just to see what'd happen.
It's not the prettiest by today's standards, but there's something satisfying about outmaneuvering the AI with a well-timed unit combo. Just don't expect your tanks to always listen—sometimes they take the scenic route.
