Game Overview

Commander Keen 4: Secret of the Oracle came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by id Software. It was one of those side-scrolling platformers that felt right at home in the early 90s, when shareware titles filled floppy disks and colorful, imaginative worlds were just a command prompt away. The game continued the adventures of Billy Blaze, an eight-year-old who built a spaceship in his backyard and became the galactic protector Commander Keen.

You control Keen as he explores the alien planet of Fribbulus Xax, screen by screen, jumping across platforms and avoiding enemies like Gnosticenes and floating eyes. Your main goal is to find the Oracle and stop the evil Grand Intellect; you collect keycards to progress, solve environmental puzzles, and use a pogo stick for higher jumps and attacking foes. The pacing is brisk, with some tricky jumps and enemy patterns that demand timing, but it never feels unfair. Playing it feels like a clever, compact adventure where every screen holds a small discovery or challenge.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
