Game Overview

Commander Keen 3: Keen Must Die came out in 1990, part of the early wave of MS-DOS platformers from id Software. It was a time when PC gaming was still finding its feet, and you could feel the ambition packed into those simple, colorful levels. The game picks up right after the second one, with Billy Blaze, aka Commander Keen, still trying to save the galaxy from the villainous Vorticon Empire.

You control Keen as he jumps across platforms, shoots enemies with his ray gun, and hunts for keycards to progress. The levels are designed screen by screen, each one a self-contained puzzle of platforms and enemies. You collect candy for points and soda cans for extra lives, all while avoiding enemies like robot dogs and patrolling Vorticons. The pacing is brisk, but the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially in later stages. It feels like a clever, sometimes unforgiving, trip through a child's imaginative interpretation of space.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
