Play Commander Keen Dreams Online

Billy gets grounded, dreams about evil potatoes, and bounces through veggie-themed levels tossing seeds that turn enemies into confused plants. The controls feel dated, but the absurdity of a screaming potato dictator makes up for it.

Game Overview

Commander Keen Dreams came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by id Software. It was one of those side-scrolling platformers that felt right at home on a PC in the early 90s, sitting alongside shareware hits that defined the era without trying to be more than it was.

You control Billy Blaze, a kid grounded in his room who ends up dreaming himself into a bizarre vegetable-themed world. Your main goal is to navigate through a series of interconnected levels, find keys to unlock doors, and ultimately confront the Potato King. You jump across platforms, avoid enemies like angry carrots and bouncing tomatoes, and use a limited supply of seeds to stun foes temporarily. The pacing is methodical, with some tricky jumps and enemy patterns that demand patience. It feels like a strange, slightly janky trip through a garden thatโ€™s decided to fight back.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
