Castlevania 3 came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989, developed and published by Konami. The key mechanics include recruiting alternate companions, such as Grant the wall-climbing thief or Sypha the spellcaster, and choosing which branching path to take through the game's world, which affects both the stages you see and the allies available. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty is steep, demanding precise jumps and attack timing. It feels tense and rewarding to finally clear a tough section after learning enemy patterns.
