You control Christopher Belmont, who must rescue his son Soleiyu from Dracula by conquering four themed castles: Plant, Cloud, Rock, and Crystal. Each castle is a multi-stage labyrinth filled with enemies, platforming challenges, and branching paths. You use your whip to attack foes and break blocks, and you collect sub-weapons like axes and holy water for additional offensive options. The game's pacing is deliberate, with a moderate difficulty that requires careful movement and pattern recognition. It feels satisfying to methodically clear each screen and uncover the route forward.
