Combat Aces (Beta) is an unreleased Sega Genesis title from the 16-bit era, developed by an unknown team and never officially published. It exists only in prototype form, a glimpse into what might have been during a time when arcade-style flight shooters were common on the platform.
You pilot a fighter jet through side-scrolling and occasionally top-down stages, clearing waves of enemy aircraft and ground targets. The main goal is to survive each area, using a standard cannon and limited homing missiles that lock on with a distinct, high-pitched beep. Enemy fire is dense and requires constant dodging; the screen fills with bullets and explosions, demanding quick reflexes. It feels fast and unforgiving, a test of focus and pattern recognition from start to finish.
