Commander Keen: Keen Dreams is a classic 1991 platformer from id Software, starring the precocious eight-year-old genius Billy Blaze, aka Commander Keen. In this whimsical adventure, Keen finds himself trapped in the surreal land of Tuberia after a bizarre dream—a world ruled by sentient vegetables, where the tyrannical King Boobus Tuber enslaves children. Armed only with "Flower Power" bombs (which temporarily turn enemies into harmless blooms), Keen must navigate treacherous levels, collect Boobus Bombs to defeat the king, and avoid hazards like pits and hostile veggies. Unlike other entries in the series, Keen lacks his usual raygun or pogo stick, adding a fresh twist to the gameplay.

The game stands out for its charmingly odd premise, colorful pixel-art environments, and a non-linear overworld map that lets players choose their path.
