Play Commander Keen: The Terror from Outer Space Online

Creep through a flickering Vorticon ship, pogo-jumping over gaps while these twisted new aliens lurk in the shadows—it’s still Keen, just with the lights off and your pulse up. That chiptune soundtrack’s gone feral too.

Game Overview

Commander Keen: The Terror from Outer Space was re-released in 2013 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, bringing back id Software's early platformer to modern systems. It originally came out in 1990, a time when side-scrolling adventures on PC were still finding their footing, and it stood out for its colorful visuals and imaginative level design.

You control Billy Blaze, an eight-year-old genius who becomes Commander Keen, exploring a massive alien mothership room by room. Your goal is to rescue the missing scientists and find your way out. You jump across platforms, avoid or stun enemies with your ray gun, and use a pogo stick to reach high ledges or cross gaps. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with precise jumps and enemy patterns to learn. It feels like a tense, clever scramble through a maze full of surprises.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
