Game Overview

Conquests of Camelot came out in 1990 for MS-DOS, developed and published by Sierra On-Line. It was part of that era where adventure games were transitioning from text parsers to full point-and-click interfaces, though this one still used a command line for interaction. The game stood out for its focus on Arthurian lore and a more thoughtful, less comedic tone than many of its contemporaries.

You control King Arthur, traveling across Britain and the Holy Land to recover the four missing pieces of the Grail. The gameplay involves navigating screen by screen, collecting items, and solving puzzles that often require knowledge of medieval symbolism or chivalric codes. There are a few action sequences, like jousting or archery, but these are simple and infrequent. The pacing is deliberate, and some puzzles can be quite obscure, demanding patience or outside research. Playing it feels like stepping into an illustrated storybook where your choices carry a quiet moral weight.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
